Laura Shields is the founder and Managing Director of Red Thread, a communications agency specialising in media and presentation training and message and narrative development. A former journalist who graduated from Cambridge University in 2000, Laura started her career at CNN, CNBC and the BBC in London, specialising in European business news and US politics. Based in Brussels since 2008, Laura now works as a communications consultant and panel moderator across Europe, Central Asia and the Middle East. Her clients include European government Ministers, EU Commissioners, EU and US Ambassadors, MEPs, Fortune 500 and FTSE 100 companies, trade associations, NGOs, thinktanks, scientists and philanthropic organisations. Laura is a visiting lecturer at Maastricht University and the IHECS Academy in Brussels. She has written for The Huffington Post, Politics.co.uk and Communication Director Magazine and has appeared on Euronews and ZDF TV.
