Erik Akse is founder of the Impact Assessment Institute (www.iai.al) and has an extensive track record in EU decision-making, policy analysis and Better Regulation. He has worked with the EU since 2002, including a nearly 5-year career stint at the European Commission. He has published a range of articles and books about how the EU and its policy cycle.
Erik provides strategic/procedural advice and training on EU decision-making and policy development. He enables organisations to better align their advocacy activities with EU procedures for maximum effect and coaches public affairs professionals on their involvement in EU Impact Assessment and Evaluation.
Moreover, Erik works with governments and administrations across the globe on implementing Better Regulation principles through systems for Impact Assessment, Evaluation, Public Consultation and administrative burden reduction. He is particularly active in countries that aim to join the European Union.
