This book provides an account of the Convention and the IGC that drafted the abortive Constitutional Treaty. The book was written by three members of the secretariat that supported the drafting of the treaty and retains considerable interest as an insiders' historical account of the Treaty, which itself had considerable influence on the Lisbon Treaty that replaced it.
"The experience and knowledge acquired by the authors as a result of being so directly associated with the drafting of the Constitution has been distilled and presented in a way which makes this book accessible to anyone with an interest in the subject". Javier Solana, when Secretary General of the Council of Ministers
"A splendid account... lucidly written, well organised and highly insightful". Journal of Common Market Studies
