The European Constitution: its origins, negotiation and meaning, by Guy Milton and Jacques Keller-Noëllet, with Agnieszka Bartol-Saurel
This book provides an account of the Convention and the IGC that drafted the Constitutional Treaty. The book was written by three members of the secretariat that supported the drafting of the treaty and retains considerable interest as an historical account. An updated version, describing how the Constitutional Treaty came to be replaced by the Treaty of Lisbon, and what that latter treaty says and does - and what ultimately becomes of it following the Irish referendum, will be published at a future date.
"The experience and knowledge acquired by the authors as a result of being so directly associated with the drafting of the Constitution has been distilled and presented in a way which makes this book accessible to anyone with an interest in the subject". Javier Solana, Secretary General of the Council, in the foreword.
"A splendid account... lucidly written, well organised and highly insightful". Journal of Common Market Studies
