A Competency Framework defines the knowledge, skills, and attributes needed for people within an organisation. Each individual role will have its own set of competencies needed to perform the job effectively. Success in a role requires a specific set of competencies that relate to the job, as well as to the organisation's goals. This set of competencies is formalized in a competency framework.
The competency framework used by the European Personnel Selection Office is the result of a comprehensive job analysis undertaken in 2009 for all entry grades of EU officials across the institutions.
