Michael Kaeding is Professor for European Integration and European Union Politics at the Department of Political Science of the University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany. He graduated from the University of Konstanz and Leiden University, where he received his PhD and conducted postdoctoral studies on alternative forms of EU policy-making. Meanwhile, he has been a consultant for the EU institutions and various national ministries. Michael has written articles and edited books on the European elections, EU institutions, Comitology, EU Agencies, European social dialogue, and the implementation of EU legislation across Member States. He is a Visiting Fellow with the European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA) and Member of the Flying Faculty of the College of Europe (Bruges) and the Turkish-German University (Istanbul). Michael is a Fulbright alumnus and a former Carl Schurz Visiting Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (USA).
